Prof. Ian Cameron, Director

Ian is a Principal Consultant for Daesim and is a leading academic in Chemical Engineering at the University of Queensland. He specialises in the dynamic modelling, simulation and optimisation of process systems and has gained an international reputation in modelling and numerical solution techniques. Ian is an expert in the application of qualitative and quantitative process risk management techniques. He was a process engineering consultant for United Nations Industrial Development Organization over a period of 10 years. Ian is the author of numerous publications and his professional awards include the John A. Brodie Medal for Excellence in Chemical Engineering from The Institution of Engineers, Australia and a Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Queensland. He received his BE degree with First Class Honours from the University of New South Wales, MSChE from the University of Washington, Seattle, and PhD and DIC degrees from Imperial College, London. 

Dr. Robert Newell, Director

Bob is responsible for the engineering of Daesim's software products and is a Principal Consultant for Daesim in the area of advanced process systems. A leading academic in data analysis, modeling and control for 25 years, Bob founded strong process control research programmes at Monash University and at The University of Queensland. Bob has worked and researched widely in the area of computer-aided process engineering and has received numerous professional awards including the John A. Brodie Medal for Excellence in Chemical Engineering from The Institution of Engineers, Australia. He also received the prestigious University of Queensland Medal for both Engineering and Applied Chemistry. Bob received his BE (ChE) and BScApp (Industrial Chemistry) with First Class Honours from The University of Queensland and PhD from the University of Alberta, Canada.

Mr. Don Wilkey, Managing Director

Don is responsible for managing and developing Daesim's business and is a Principal Consultant for Daesim specialising in software applications engineering. Don brings extensive experience in supplying and supporting advanced software applications to industrial companies in Australia and internationally. Prior to co-founding Daesim with Ian and Bob, he worked for Gensym Corporation, a leading provider of expert system software products headquartered in the USA. During his time at Gensym, Don held both technical and sales management positions. Don received his BE (ChE) from The University of Queensland.

Dr. Marc Steffens

Marc is a senior consultant and software developer for Daesim. Marc received his BE with First Class Honours and PhD both in chemical engineering from The University of Queensland.

Dr. Nicolas Clemeur

Nicolas is a senior consultant and software developer for Daesim. Nicolas received his Master of Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from The Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Queensland. Nicolas is the author of several publications and also a viscoelastic modelling software called RheoChart.
